Ingredients
1 ½ tsp butter
1 small onion, chopped
2 pounds of cooked chicken, cut or shredded
1 can of cream of chicken soup
½ cup mayonnaise
1 cup of milk
½ cup roasted red pepper, chopped
1 ½ cup cheddar cheese, mild
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
How To Make Creamed Chicken and Biscuits Casserole
FIRST STEP:
Preheat the oven to 350*
Grease the bottom and the sides of a baking dish
SECOND STEP:
Heat the butter in a skillet and add the onion
Saute until the onion begins to soften
THIRD STEP:
When done add the onion to the chicken, milk, red peppers and mayonnaise
Pour into the prepared baking dish
FOURTH STEP:
Bake for 15 minutes and then remove from the oven
Sprinkle with 1 cup of the cheese and then layer the biscuits over the cheese
FIFTH STEP:
Sprinkle with the remaining cheese
Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes or until golden brown
SIXTH STEP:
Let sit for a few minutes before serving.
This can be a meal in itself or you could make a dinner salad to go with this dish.
