Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 bag (19 oz) frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Directions

Step 1: Brown the Sausage

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
  2. Once cooked, drain any excess grease.

Step 2: Combine Ingredients in the Crockpot

  1. In a crockpot, combine the cooked sausage, frozen tortellini, marinara sauce, and chicken broth.
  2. Stir well to mix everything together.

Step 3: Slow Cook to Perfection

  1. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.

Step 4: Add the Cheese

  1. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the top.
